Orioles101 Minor League Rundown: 8/21 Impressive Pitching for Baltimore Orioles Affiliates

Here is your daily Baltimore Orioles Minor League rundown with quick game summaries for each of the Orioles Minor League affiliates for the day. Keep in mind that we have kept this to the five major affiliates, but will give you periodic updates on the Orioles DSL and GCL teams as well throughout the summer.

AAA Norfolk Tides (61-71)

Tides win 5-2

  • Julio Borbon went 2-4 with a RBI and run scored
  • Dariel Alvarez went 2-4 with a home run and three RBI. Hitting .293 since promotion
  • Mike Wright nearly tossed a complete game as he allowed two runs (zero earned) on one hit and 11 strikeouts over 8 2/3 innings

AA Bowie Baysox (66-64)

Baysox win 6-2

  • Mike Yastrzemski went 2-4 with a double, home run, RBI, and two runs scored
  • Buck Britton went 2-4 with two RBI and a run scored
  • Anthony Vasquez allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits over eight innings

High-A Frederick Keys (58-66)

Keys win 5-0

  • Trey Mancini went 3-5 with two doubles and a run scored
  • Brenden Webb had a home run and a walk
  • Steven Brault tossed six shutout innings and allowed one hit
  • Lex Rutledge tossed three shutout innings in relief and allowed just one hit

Low-A Delmarva Shorebirds (63-66)

Off Day

Short-Season A Aberdeen Ironbirds (21-43)

Ironbirds lose 7-3

  • Jamill Moquete went 2-4 with a double, home run and a RBI
  • Randolph Gassaway went 2-3 with a triple and RBI
  • Zeke McGranahan, Mike Burke and Max Schuh combined to throw 5 2/3 scoreless innings of relief
