The 2014 season marks the Baltimore Orioles franchise's 60th anniversary in the city of Baltimore after the team moved to Charm City from St. Louis where they were known as the Browns. Earlier this week, the Orioles announced their plans for a 60th anniversary luncheon on August 8 that is almost a must go for Orioles fans.
The Orioles announced plans for their 60th Anniversary Luncheon, which will be held Friday, August 8 at noon in the Warehouse at Oriole Park. The event, which is phenomenal, is presented by the Oriole Advocates and will honor members of the Orioles Hall of Fame.
Believe it or not, more than 20, yes 20, Orioles Hall of Famers are expected to attend the luncheon, including the likes of Brooks Robinson, Frank Robinson, Eddie Murray, Rick Dempsey, Jim Gentile, Milt Pappas, Don Bufor, Ken Singleton, Mike Boddicker, Doug DeCinces and more. The luncheon will include a question and answer session with the players and coaches, a silent auction, raffles and door prizes.
The O's also announced ticket prices, as tickets for the luncheon are $75 and can be purchased by contacting Ann Serio of the Oriole Advocates at (410) 247-2703. That night, the Orioles will host the St. Louis Cardinals at 7:05 p.m.
Following the game, a fireworks and laser show will be presented featuring highlights of the Orioles' 60-year history and the introduction of the Orioles Hall of Fame members. The team announced that if you would like more information, fans can visit www.orioles.com/community.
If this is something you can afford to go to, we would strongly encourage you to do so as it is a rare occurrence to see so many of the Orioles Hall of Famers and legends in the same place at the same time.
