The Baltimore Orioles released their spring training roster this week and there are really no surprises, and there are hopes of having an additional pitcher show up at some point with the team still trying to add a veteran pitcher.

Of course the names of said veteran pitcher are very familiar with the possibilities being A.J. Burnett, although he is beginning to seem unlikely, as well as Ervin Santana and Ubaldo Jimenez or even Korean right hander Suk-min Yoon.

This season's Spring Training roster includes the 40-man roster and 20 non-roster invites, as well as the presence of LHP Troy Patton who is not currently on the 40-man roster due to his 25-game suspension that he will serve to start the season.

As you can see, it will be quite a crowded clubhouse in Sarasota and many of the veteran pitchers may use Minor League Spring Training games and intrasquads to build their innings in order to give the other guys meaningful innings for both Buck Showalter and Dave Wallace to evaluate what exactly they have.

The big issue may be in the outfield where 11 guys will have to share three positions in order to get some playing time. Urrutia, Young and Pearce may get more time in the DH role than others as that looks to be their primary chance at making the team.

It should be a fun spring and don't forget we will begin our 10-part Orioles Spring Training Preview on Tuesday, February 11 as we will breakdown all areas of the team and preview which players to watch and which should be on the look out for competition.
