All five of the managers of the major affiliates return in 2014, but not all of them will return to manage the same team. Ryan Minor, who coached the High A Frederick Keys last season, will return to manage the Low A Delmarva Shorebirds, a title he held from 2010-12, while Luis Pujols, who managed the Shorebirds last season, will move up to manage the Keys.

Outside of those two switching teams, the rest of the Managers remain with their past teams as Ron Johnson will return for his third straight as the manager at Triple-A Norfolk after guiding the Tides to a 77-67 mark in 2013. The 2014 season will be Johnson’s 21st as a minor league manager and he is sixth among active minor league managers with 1,412 career victories (1,412-1,399 overall). Gary Kendall will return for his fourth season as the Double-A Bowie Baysox manager, and Matt Merullo will manage the Short Season-A Aberdeen Ironbirds for the second straight year after leading them to their first ever division title in 2013.

Orlando Gomez will manage the rookie-level Gulf Coast League Orioles for a second straight year and his 10th in the organization (eighth as a manager), while Elvis Morel and Nelson Norman will manage the Orioles’ two entries in the Dominican Summer League.
