Once again the Baltimore Orioles have added some bullpen depth this offseason, and although it is once again not the type of signing most fans want to see, the O's have reportedly agreed on a two-year worth around $4.5 million with RHP Ryan Webb.

MASN's Roch Kubatko reported the deal via Twitter earlier this morning:

"Source: Orioles reach 2-year agreement with RHP Ryan Webb, who pitched for Marlins." via his Twitter @masnRoch. "Deal for Webb for around $4.5 million."

Webb has been a reliever his entire five year MLB career and has a career mark of 13-15 with a 3.29 ERA over 266 appearances and 276 innings. He has spent his entire career in the National League with the Padres (two years) and Marlins (three years).

He will be 28 once the season starts and is coming off of a pretty good year in 2013 as he posted a 2.91 ERA with a 1.207 WHIP in 66 appearances and 80 1/3 innings pitched.

Over his career he has been much better against right handed hitters holding them to a .254 average and he strikes out almost one more batter per walk than he does against lefties. Incase you were wondering, left handers are hitting .285 against him over his career.

He is not a strikeout pitcher, but is a quality reliever. There is some concern with him moving to the American League, but relievers are less affected by the move than starters because they are not normally facing opposing pitchers. Over his career, he has been pretty good when pitching with a lead as he has held opponents to a .234 average in such situations.

It may not be the type of signing Orioles' fans want to see, but we feel that this is a good one as he is a quality reliever that does make the bullpen better than it was 24 hours ago.
