Anything really did happen during Game 1, which will go down as one of the most entertaining in Finals history.  Here are the top highlights. A Controversial Overturned Call The Cavs had plenty of momentum late in the fourth quarter of Game 1 of the NBA Finals, after LeBron James had converted a three-point play opportunity, giving his team a two-point lead with under a minute remaining. Golden State attempted to respond to James’ big play with one of their own, and the team put the ball in Kevin Durant’s hands. He drove the lane and attacked the basket, but was met by LeBron James. Durant ran into him, and there was plenty of contact. A charging foul was called on Durant, and it appeared that the Cavs were going to be in great position to win the game. But the play was reviewed, to see if James was in the restricted area, and the foul call ended up being reversed. A blocking foul was called on James, and Durant made both free throws...

The top three sports that will attract the most bettors after Supreme Court ruling

The news that the United States Supreme Court struck down a 1992 federal law that banned commercial sports betting in almost every state could have a major impact on the gambling industry there. The ruling gives each individual state the opportunity to legalise gambling within its jurisdiction and many are expected to quickly take advantage. Previously, only Nevada, Delaware, Montana and Oregon had legalised sports betting and only Nevada allowed for single-game wagers. It is expected that Delaware, Mississippi, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia will soon follow suit and at least nine other states are likely to jump on board in the future. Sports betting currently brings in around $5 billion annually to Las Vegas, with an estimated $150 billion in sports betting done illegally every year. Read on to find out more about the top three sports that will attract the most bettors. Soccer In 2017/18, the principal sponsors of nine out of 20 clubs in the English Premier League clubs were gambling businesses. Their agreements often allows them exclusive access inside stadiums, where they can offer free bets and other promotions to fans. An arrangement of that type in Major League Soccer (MLS) creates a huge window of opportunity for gambling operators and the clubs. There is also the potential for increased broadcast revenue. Sky and BT Sport, the two major sports broadcasters in...

Ways to Trigger Ketosis

Ketosis is a bodily state where fat is burned and broken down into ketones and used for energy. Ketosis takes place where there is a carbohydrate deficit in the body (carbohydrates are our main source of energy) and it is a perfectly natural state for the human body to be in. We often go into ketosis during periods of intermittent fasting and ketosis is even prescribed to treat certain medical conditions such as epilepsy or type-2 diabetes. Royalty Free Photo There are lots of ways you can trigger ketosis, but if you are trying to figure out how to get into ketosis quickly then you may find some of the following pointers useful – #1: Cut Carbohydrates to a Minimum This one is obvious – you cannot enter ketosis if you are consuming carbohydrates. This is the most important factor in triggering ketosis and is a prerequisite for any other method. During a non-ketonic state, your body and cells use glucose as their main source of fuel, however, your cells can also use other fuel sources. These other fuel sources include ketones and fatty acids. When your carbohydrate intake is at a minimum, your glycogen stores deplete and insulin declines, enabling fatty acids and ketones to be released from your body’s fat stores. The level of carbohydrate restriction very much depends on you as an individual, with some people...

As a result, many basketball coaches will place a high value on an player’s vertical jump performance, and professional basketball leagues including the NBA include the measurement on each individual’s record. If you are serious about a career in basketball, a vertical jump development training program can help your jump reach the place where you want it to be through rigorous training that is proven to be effective. Ronald Jones: A Second Round Steal In the 2018 NFL Draft

Entering the 2018 NFL Draft, many observers around the league expected the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to address their running back situation, given their release of Doug Martin this offseason, and the patchwork group of runners they had on the roster behind Martin. With the 38th overall pick in the draft, which was the sixth pick in the second round, the Buccaneers selected running back Ronald Jones from the University of Southern California. In doing so, we could look back at Tampa Bay and say they drafted one of the most explosive offensive players in the entire draft. Coming from a school with perhaps the most decorated history of collegiate and professional running backs, Jones leaves USC a as the school’s fifth all-time leading rusher, and with the fifth-most rushing touchdowns in school history.  Jones ran for more yards than Reggie Bush and LenDale White did (in the same amount of time) while at USC, and averaged almost the same amount of rushing yards per year as Marcus Allen. The first word that comes to mind every time you watch Jones is “explosive.”  He is a threat to blast off a huge run the very second he gets the ball in his hands. What I love about him is his lightning-fast first step, and how he uses that burst through the hole. Frankly, the way he presses and hits the hole...

How Manchester United Can Win the English Premiere League Title Next Year

By any measure Manchester United has been improving. Their campaign last year was filled with frustration and they barely got into the Champions League where they finished sixth. This year they look to finish a clear second to Manchester City in the Premiere League and they are in the finals in the FA Cup as well, after beating Tottenham this week. These accomplishments that have occurred in one season are exemplary for any team. Unless of course you are Man U. Man United has been spoiled with a tradition of always being the top or near to the top club in the UK. Sir Alex Ferguson created a standard of excellence that is nearly impossible to match and set Man U fans on the road to thinking that unless the club wins it all, the season is a failure. With this said, Man U is playing beneath its potential. The season has seen them execute the way we are used to seeing, but only for short periods, and this is just not acceptable from this club. They have the most famous coach in the game who has won big wherever he has coached, and he has said Man United is his dream coaching job. They have big stars playing for them that understand the stage and know what is expected. What is clear is a few things need to...

Josh Rosen Is a Perfect Fit for the New York Giants

Josh Rosen has the most unique personality out of all the top quarterbacks. He is one who never shies away from his personal opinion and always speaks his mind. A guy like this could be destroyed in a place like New York. However, Rosen can be the type of guy who actually thrives in this environment. Rosen has a unique skillset, somewhat similar to Tom Brady.  In fact, many people are using their William Hill promo code to wager that Rosen will be selected by the Giants with the #2 pick. Why Josh Rosen to the New York Giants Makes Sense Skill Set to Last in New York Rosen is undeniably one of the most talented quarterbacks in this class, if not the most talented. However, he speaks his mind too often. Although he speaks his mind, he has the talent to back what he says. This would be the first time in 15+ years where the New York Giants have a vocal quarterback. Eli Manning said minimal words to the New York media and was loved. Rosen would bring a new dynamic to New York and back it up with his play. The New York media also will not tolerate losing. Rosen is a proven winner who would make the New York media fall in love with him quickly. A Future Quarterback Is Needed It is no surprise the Giants are looking for...

Who Will Get Relegated from the English Premier League This Year?

With just 10 or so games left to play in the 2017/2018 Premier League season, there are still around 14 sides that could face the drop if they’re not careful. Usually, teams fighting for relegation attempt to get 40 points, as that’s usually the safety number for teams to survive. 14 teams don’t have that number yet, so it’s going to be a hugely exciting, and probably disappointing season for fans across the country between now and the end of the season. Let’s have a look at some of the teams that will likely get relegated if they don’t change their fortunes around. Royalty Free Photo West Bromwich Albion – 20th West Brom have hit bottom in recent weeks and they look all but out of the Premier League unless a miracle happens. They are going to rely hugely on the teams above them to make mistakes but also, they’ll still need to do battle with some of the teams in the top six to ensure they survive. It’s not looking likely for the midlands outfit, but if Alan Pardew can infuse a bit of motivation and ensure his players heads don’t drop, they could do something incredible and avoid the drop. As of now though, they look like they’re going to have a tough time staying in the league with the elite. Stoke City – 19th Stoke have...

It meant playing in crunchy white magic and coming in for hot cocoa afterwards. Now that we’re all grown up, however, snow doesn’t seem so great. Snow means driving through sludge...

Get an umpire’s take on cricket controversy

https://www.cricket.com.au/-/media/Brightcove/Cricket-Australia/2018/3/24/Bancroft-charged-Smith-admits-ball-tampering-ploy-still.ashx The biggest news of the last few weeks in the sporting world has been the high-profile ball-tampering scandal which began at a test-match in South Africa. Cricketers have been accused of deliberately making the rough side of a cricket ball rougher, a trick which can give the bowler an advantage over his opposition. Cameron Bancroft admitted to used yellow tape with grit on it as a kind of homemade sandpaper to tamper with the ball, and the incident has since blown up. Captain Steve Smith has also admitted to conduct “of a serious nature that is contrary to the spirit of the game”, according to a statement from governing body the ICC. It’s one of the biggest sporting scandals to surface in years, even as players and pundits suggest that the tactic may not be unusual. One commentator said, “Lots of players and teams are trying to rough up this side of the ball, some using tactics that are legal, some using tactics that aren’t. On this occasion, the Australian cricketers got caught.” It’s the sort of discussion that’s fascinating for the true cricket fan, with former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan saying: “Surely this moment was the time to set a precedent. All the team should be penalised.” With such a spirited debate underway, what better person to comment than Dickie Bird, one of the most famous...

Eagles vs. England

The Philadelphia Eagles recently took out the prestigious Super Bowl Championship, solidifying their reputation as one of the NFL’s powerhouse teams. But how do the top dogs in the NFL compare to the best team in Rugby Union, the England Rugby team? Though they’re totally different games, being the favorite contact sport of each country, they’re often compared to one another. Both their home stadiums are huge, with Lincoln Financial Field holding 69,176 and Twickenham Stadium at a capacity of 82,000, and their dedicated fan bases more than justify those huge numbers. Each team has an average height of 6’2”, and both their tallest players, Will Beatty for the Eagles and Courtney Lawes for England Rugby, measure up to an impressive 6’6”. In terms of weight, the two teams differ quite a bit. The Eagles average 240lb and their heaviest player, Brandon Brooks is a brawny 332lb. England Rugby, who are often referred to as the Three Lions, weigh in substantially lighter with an average of 227lb with their heaviest player, Mako Vunipola sitting at 267lb, quite a bit less than Brooks. The Three Lions’ lighter weight pool might aid their faster speed, with their speediest player, Jonny May, averaging 23.4mph compared to the Eagles Nelson Agholor who averages 21.9mph. The UK team have scored double the points in a single match than the USA team has, 134 is...

In-Play/ Cashing Out One of my favourite, and most profitable features on betting sites is the chance to bet in-play, as the game is taking place. I love this because you can really get a feel for the game before you place any bets. Another feature which I love, a feature which those that offer in-play betting also offer, is the chance to cash your bet out. If you haven’t heard of cash out, it is basically an opportunity for you to take a lower amount of winnings, depending on how your bets are panning out, perfect if it is 1-0 to the team you backed, entering into the last very minutes. Not all companies offer this, so...
