Bellator 222 Weigh-in Results

Though a few fighters needed the aid of towel, all the fighters made weight. The card is to be headlined by a welterweight championship match and Grand Prix semi-final between champion Rory MacDonald and Neiman Gracie. In the co-main event, Chael Sonnen takes on the Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida” in a light heavyweight clash. The opening fight on the main card will be the second encounter between Bellator bantamweight champion Darrion Caldwell and RIZIN FF bantamweight champion Kyoji Horiguchi. Bellator 222 Open Workouts and Pre-fight Interviews

Just outside the world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden, Bellator held open workouts for Friday’s Bellator 222 show. Chael Sonnen, Darrion Caldwell, Lyoto Machida, Kyoji Horiguchi, and Neiman Gracie all took part in workouts. Rory MacDonald appeared but did not do a workout. Saiga Out of Kickboxing Bout at RIZIN 16; Replaced by Ryuji Horio

Another last minute fight change at RIZIN 16 as Kunitaka now takes on Ryuji Horio. A 59 kg/130 pound kickboxing match between Kunitaka and Kizaemon Saiga will now be Kunitaka vs. Ryuji Horio (19-11-3). Saiga was not cleared to fight by the ophthalmologist, an eye doctor, during his pre-fight medical exams. This stems from a previous orbital fracture that he suffered. The judges gave all three rounds to Magomedov, 30-27. The win nets him 3 points in the lightweight bracket. Natan Schulte Talks First Round Win after PFL Season 2, Week 2

Brazil’s Natan Schulte (15-3-1) got an easy win over China’s Bao Yincang (13-7) when he submitted the Sanda fighter with a rear naked choke in the first round at PFL Season 2 Week 2. The win earns Schulte six points, three for the win and three for the first round stoppage. As of this writing, he is currently leading the pack in the lightweight bracket.
