  • The Atlanta Hawks' Development League affiliate, the Bakersfield Jam (California),  will hold open tryouts in the Atlanta area. The tryouts will be held at the Suwanee Sports Academy on October 5 and 6. There is a $150 pre-registration fee that should arrive at the Bakersfield Jam by October 2 or $200 after that. Sign in will begin at 8:00 on October 5 and the tryout will start at 9:45. There will be an All Star Game for the Top 20 players on October 6 at 10:00. 
  • While rehabbing his torn ACL, Atlanta Hawks' guard, Lou Williams hit the studio to record a brand new mixtape. The name of the tape is 'Here Goes Nothin' and it features artists like Meek Mills, 2 Chainz, K.Michelle, Jagged Edge and Quez from Travis Porter. 
  • Former Hawks' forward Ivan Johnson has reportedly given NBA teams a deadline of two weeks to present him a reasonable offer before opting to go overseas to play. Johnson has reportedly been in talks with a few teams in the league but has only received one offer and that was from the New York Knicks for the league minimum.
  • The Atlanta Hawks are reportedly still in the market for a small forward, rumor is that they may have there eye on James Johnson. Johnson is set to have an upcoming workout and Atlanta may be one of the teams that has a representative present. Johnson was drafted 16th in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls, he has also played for the Toronto Raptors and he played last season for the Sacramento Kings. 
  • Allen Iverson has announced that he will officially retire. 
  • It has been stated that former Hawk and current Utah Jazz forward Marvin Williams could return to the court by training camp or a couple of weeks into the season after suffering an Achilles injury.
