After Jeff Teague signed an offer sheet with the Milwaukee Bucks worth $32 million for four years, the Atlanta Hawks had three days to either let him go or match the deal. Well, they decided to match the offer to pay the point guard $8 million a season to allow him to remain a Hawk. Teague had expressed the fact that he never felt comfortable with the current staff in Atlanta and wished to go somewhere else. Hopefully, Hawks GM Danny Ferry can help him feel more at home and valuable to the team.
Had Jeff Teague been allowed to move on to Milwaukee, he would have joined former Hawks' head coach Larry Drew and former Atlanta big man Zaza Pachulia. He said that he wanted to play for the Bucks because of his familiarity with Coach Drew. Teague had been linked to rumors of sign and trade deals with he and Bucks' point guard Brandon Jennings, but it Jeff Teague and Al Horford into Tony Parker and Tim Duncan.
Stay tuned to see what new moves the Atlanta Hawks make as the off season continues.
