The Atlanta Hawks GM Danny Ferry was recently interviewed by Jessica Taylor for NBA.com and was asked about his feelings regarding the team at the midway point. Overall, he said that he feels good about where the Hawks are and knows that the team has room to improve. Here are some of the quotes:

On the season so far…

"I think we've had a pretty good year overall. We hit a rough patch for about two and a half weeks where we were not playing well and we were in a funk, but beyond that I think our group played very well. We've had injuries off and on throughout the year and our depth has been able to get through them and we've been able to win basketball games."

On losing Lou Williams

"Obviously, losing a player of Lou's caliber on any team is a tough thing but I'm comfortable with our depth and us adjusting a little bit on how we have to play so that we can still be very successful."

On the teams character so far…

" We can be very competitive." "If you are going to be competitive night in and night out, you have to be solid defensively."
