The Atlanta Hawks lost to the Brooklyn Nets, 94-89, marking their seventh loss in nine games. On top of that, Atlanta also lost Lou Williams in the second quarter. His knee buckled from under him while he was going up on a fast break, it is initially diagnosed as a knee sprain but Williams was taken to the locker room in a wheelchair and will undergo further tests when the team returns to Atlanta

The Hawks were already without Al Horford, DeShawn Stevenson and Anthony Morrow, so losing Williams put Atlanta further in the hole. On top of that, Zaza Pachullia fouled out of the game in the last few minutes remaining as the Hawks fell just short of pulling out the victory.

Those last minutes saw the Hawks storm back from being down by eight to trailing 90-89. Deron Williams hit some clutch free throws (four) as the clock dwindled down to reach the final score.

Deron Williams led the Nets with 24 points and seven assists, Brook Lopez scored 20 points and grabbed six rebounds and Joe Johnson dropped in 18 points.

For the Hawks, Jeff Teague led the way with 21 points and 10 assists. Devin Harris hit 17 points, Josh Smith added 12 points and nine rebounds and Kyle Korver dropped in 11 points of his own. With his 12 points, J-Smoove passed Eddie Johnson for eighth on the team's career scoring list. Josh now has 9,633 points as a Hawk.

Once again, Atlanta's failure to get to the free throw line plays a crucial role in the game; they went 10-14 from the charity stripe while the Nets were 25-38 from the line. The Hawks also managed to shoot a terrible five of 22 from the floor in the fourth quarter accounting for 15 points in the final period.
