The Atlanta Hawks started out "soft" according to head coach Larry Drew and found themselves down by 17 points in the first half. At the end of the first half the score was 58-42 and the Hawks had dug themselves a deep hole to climb out of. Coach Drew challenged his team to step the game up in the second half and the Hawks came out on a run that helped to get the game back to within reach. Minnesota followed with a run of their own and from there it was a battle. Atlanta won the second half 61-50, but it was too little and too late. The final score saw Atlanta lose their third game in a row, 108-103.
Nikola Pekovic led the Timberwolves with 25 points and 18 rebounds with Kevin Love out of the game. Andrei Kirilenko scored 21 points, Derrick Williams came off of the bench to score 17 and Alexey Shved added 15 points and seven assists.
