Along with his rebounding landmark, Josh Smith scored 23 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists and four blocks. Al Horford came up big, scoring 20 points; Kyle Korver added 14 points and Zaza Pachulia came up big off the bench with 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Atlanta Hawks.
Ryan Anderson played tough for the New Orleans Hornets and scored 23 points and six rebounds. Greivis Vasquez scored 17 points to go with 10 assists, Eric Gordon added 11 off the bench and Robin Lopez chipped in 10 points in the loss. Rookie Anthony Davis scored nine points and grabbed 13 boards.
After this game the Hornets' record moves to 7-24, they have the worst record in the West. For Atlanta, the win puts them at 20-10 and that record places them third in the East behind the Miami Heat and the New York Knicks.
Up next for the Hawks is a trip to Detroit to take on the Pistons again. In the last meeting with Detroit, the Hawks went into overtime before pulling out a 126-119 win.
