Golden State started to pull away in the second quarter and never looked back. Al Horford tried to lead the Hawks in an effort to battle back, but despite his 14 second quarter points Atlanta went into the half down 62-49. The Warriors would continue to mash the gas in the third quarter extending their advantage to 27 points. The Atlanta Hawks would end the quarter on a 7-0 run to still see themselves down 68-88 going into the fourth quarter. The bench would finish out the game for the Hawks.
Josh Smith could never seem to get it going for Atlanta with three points (1-12 from the floor), while Al Horford came in as the lead man for the Hawks with 17 points and nine rebounds. Lou Williams scored 16 for Atlanta and Ivan Johnson added 15 off the bench.
David Lee led the Warriors with 20 points and 11 rebounds. The rookie Harrison Barnes and five year vet Carl Landry both hit the stat sheet with 19 points. Steph Curry had 18 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds for Golden State and former Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket Jarrett Jack added 13 points.
The Atlanta Hawks will try to get this taste out of their mouth by going to D.C. and taking on the Washington Wizards.
