Eastern Conference

  1. Miami Heat- The Heat seem to clearly be the best team in the East. They are sometimes hampered by illnesses and injuries but everyone steps up and gets the job done.
  2. New York Knicks- One word, defense. Mike Woodson has these guys buying in to his defensive mentality and it is paying dividends.
  3. Brooklyn Nets- Brooklyn has won five in a row and now fans are asking, "Who's the kings of New York?"
  4. Milwaukee Bucks- Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis are a dangerous back court and the Bucks have won three in a row with the Pacers and Philly in that mix.
  5. Philadelphia 76ers- Jrue Holiday is stepping up as the leader of this team and when Andrew Bynum gets healthy and comes to play, the Sixers could be a problem.

Western Conference

  1. Memphis Grizzlies- The Grizzlies are on a roll to the tune of eight games straight. The Knicks, Heat, Bucks and Thunder have all fell victim to Memphis during this streak.
  2. Oklahoma City Thunder- OKC is getting along just fine without James Harden. They have some tough tests coming up as they face the Clippers, Boston and Philadelphia in their next three games.
  3. Los Angeles Clippers- The Clippers definitely look like the best in Los Angeles. They have defeated the Atlanta Hawks, Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs in their five game winning streak.
  4. San Antonio Spurs- The Spurs continue to just get it done, their only losses this season come from the Los Angeles Clippers and the New York Knicks.
  5. Dallas Mavericks- Dallas has been battling injuries but they continue to maintain above .500 under the leadership of O.J. Mayo.
