- Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith sprained his ankle in the first game against the Houston Rockets, he did not suit up with the team for their win against the Oklahoma City Thunder and he also did not practice Monday with the team. According to the AJC's Chris Vivlamore, Coach Larry Drew said that Smith did some shooting and he listed Josh as day-to-day and said that he did not know if he would be ready to go in Atlanta's next game against the Indiana Pacers in Philips Arena.
- Darnell Mayberry of the Oklahoman has reported that the Oklahoma City Thunder may be falling apart as a team. He indicates that during their loss to the Atlanta Hawks, there were guys blaming each other on defensive lulls and Russell Westbrook and Thabo Sefolosha even had to be separated from each other in a war of words. It is early in the season and we are sure that they will get it together by the playoffs, but until then there is always going to be speculation on how much did trading James Harden affected the team's chemistry.
- Charles Barkley has been working for TNT for 13 years and he still has four years on his contract. Barkley, however, has stated that he does not know if he can complete the time left on his current deal. Inside the NBA is one of the best shows going on in sports and we hope that Sir Charles can stay until he's old and gray (well, at least old), but if he is serious about moving on, we wish him the best of luck in whatever he chooses to do. There have been rumors about him running for office in Alabama and he has expressed interest in analyzing games with Dick Vitale.
- Two players have already been warned by the NBA for the anti-flopping rule. Donald Sloan (Cleveland Cavaliers) and J.J. Berea (Minnesota Timberwolves) have booth been identified and if there is another offense, they could face $5,000.00 fine by the league.
