Now, in very tragic fashion, we have learned that Howard has perished in an automobile accident in California. According to KRON 4 News in Oakland, Howard was driving a BMW and speeding on the highway when he rear ended an 18 wheeler which caused his car to flip over the divider in the middle of the road and slammed head on into multiple vehicles. The report mentioned he was going at least 100 miles an hour, according to witnesses.
The accident also killed one other driver, who's identity has not been revealed to the media.
Howard spend five years with the Oakland Raiders and two years with the Cincinnati Bengals before the Falcons signed him in the middle of the season as a free agent. He had 492 total tackles and seven interceptions in his young career.
He was 30 years old.
