It's been hard to get the running game going without starting running back Steven Jackson this year.
While Jacquizz Rodgers and Jason Snelling have done some good things in his stead, neither one of them has been able to get a consistent running game going.
That's set to change.
Coach Mike Smith announced today that Steven Jackson is set to return to practice this week, which could mean that the Falcons will be getting a huge upgrade out of the backfield if Jackson is healthy enough to go.
This would be great news for a team that is only averaging 68.3 yards per game rushing this year, good for 30th in the league. We'll keep you posted on whether or not this comes to fruition, but if all goes according to plan, Jackson will be back to take on the Arizona Cardinals this week.
