After missing last week's game against the Dolphins due to injury, LT Sam Baker returned to practice today.
Baker was replaced last week by Jeremy Trueblood, who played Right Tackle last week as Lamar Holmes played LT.
This resulted in the Falcons offensive line not giving up any sacks, but the line still constantly collapsed around Matt Ryan and is still one of the big weaknesses for this team.
Holmes' struggles have been well documented, and with Baker practicing, it could mean that he is coming back this week.
If Baker does return, then who exactly will man the offensive line? Trueblood looked a lot better at RT than Holmes ever has during the season, so it's definitely a possibility that if Baker does return this week, that Baker will return to play LT and Trueblood will play RT.
Coach Smith has been silent about who will start at RT this week, but don't be surprised to see Holmes benched in favor of Trueblood. With New England bringing in a good pass rush that included Vince Wilfork, Jered Mayo and Chandler Jones, the Falcons need to do everything they can to improve the offensive line.
Playing Jeremy Trueblood over Lamar Holmes will make the O-line better. As long as Baker is healthy enough to play, this is the move the Falcons should make at RT.
