Long shot Brian Banks hasn't gotten a lot of playing time in the first two preseason games of the season, but it appears that will likely change.

According to Coach Mike Smith, Banks is to receive an increased role for the rest of the preseason.

In these last two preseason games he will play a whole lot. I think that will be a determining factor in terms of where he fits in our plans in terms of a roster spot or practice squad.

Banks, a linebacker, never played football in college or the NFL before this year, because he was falsely accused of rape, and imprisoned.  After being cleared of the charges years later, he's spent the last couple of years trying to make it back to the game he feels he was destined to play.

Banks has only recorded one tackle in very limited in action in two preseason games thus far.

Banks will likely need a big performance in the final two games of the preseason to make the team.  He is currently third on the depth chart at middle linebacker.
