HBO selected the Cincinnati Bengals this year for their preseason documentary, Hard Knocks.  The show gives viewers an inside look at the state of an NFL locker room as a team gears up for the season.

The Falcons were heavily rumored to be on Hard Knocks last season, but declined HBO's offer.  Now they'll get a chance to be on the show this year, but they won't be the main case study of the show.

HBO and The Bengals visited the Falcons last week at Flowery Branch for team on team practices and then for both teams' first preseason game, which Cincinnati won 34-10.

The Falcons players weren't given microphones, so we won't be able to hear Roddy White, Matt Ryan and company, but it'll be interesting to see an in depth look at how the Falcons faired against the Bengals in camp.  The actual game will also be showcased, but we know how that turned out, unfortunately.

For those wanting to get a glimpse of the Falcons in action, Hard Knocks airs tonight at 10 PM EST on HBO.

Maybe it’s a good thing the Falcons were not given microphones considering how the game turned out. Perhaps this will make them even hungrier to win when it really counts!

Pre season games are a great opportunity to experiment with various players in key positions. Interestingly, they did better against the Ravens other that running out of steam!
