Atlanta Braves reliever Peter Moylan was non-tendered by the Braves earlier in the offseason with hopes that the two sides could work out a new deal. The two sides reached an impasse and now Moylan is moving on with a minor league deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
When healthy, Peter Moylan is unquestionably one of the best setup men in all of baseball, posting a 2.59 ERA in 261 career innings. However, the key for Moylan has been staying healthy. He's missed large chunks of the past two seasons in dealing with back and shoulder injuries. The right-hander could only muster 8 appearances last season spanning 5 innings.
While Moylan will be considered for a job out of camp, it's likely that he'll begin the season at the AAA level as he works to prove he's physically ready to handle the demand of an 182 game schedule.
The 34-year old has spent all six years of his major league career with the Braves.
