Former Atlanta Braves pitcher Jair Jurrjens is attempting to work his way back from a horrid 2012 campaign and has started throwing bullpen sessions again, Jon Paul Morosi tweets.

Jurrjens was non-tendered after a very disappointing season that saw him get demoted to the minors in April. Injuries to the pitching staff forced the Braves to bring him back up in June, but things quickly deteriorated for Jurrjens again as he was demoted to the bullpen and finally placed on the disabled list on Aug. 1 with a strained groin.

Jurrjens posted a 6.89 ERA in just 48 1/3 innings last season as he battled a knee issue that stemmed from the end of 2011. He won 50 games in five seasons with Atlanta.
