Amidst the rumblings that free agent outfielder B.J. Upton is going to decide which team to sign with this week, Jim Bowden tweets that the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies are in a bidding war for him with the Braves in the lead.
Bowden also reports a third mystery team is in the mix, while Dave O'Brien reports the Washington Nationals and Cincinnati Reds have shown interest.
Upton would bring a right-handed power threat to the middle of the lineup who also possesses speed, leaving the Braves in need of a left fielder who can hit lead-off.
