Free agent outfielder B.J. Upton hopes to decide on where he will play in 2013, Marc Tompkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Both the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies consider Upton their top choice to play center field and rolled out the red carpet for him.

Upton visited both teams a week ago, and the Braves even brought in former manager Bobby Cox to make a good impression.

The 28-year-old figures to command a five-year, $75 million contract, and the Braves value that he has both power and speed. He would also be much cheaper than outgoing center fielder Michael Bourn, who is a Scott Boras client.

Upton hit a career high 28 homers with 31 stolen bases last year with the Tampa Bay Rays.
