Who could forget  the two pitching prospects Trevor Bauer and Tyler Skaggs whom Kevin Towers traded away using them as valued leverage to  get back batting  help. These trades landed now injured Mark Trumbo and a defensive short stop in triple A Reno in Didi Gregoreous. Bauer has an ERA of 4.30 for the two years with Cleveland, which is far better than any pitcher the D-backs have presently. Skaggs is also doing better than the trade talent as he is 2-0 with an ERA of 3.34

So what did the D-backs get for two prospects that are doing very well currently, absolutely nothing.

Kevin Towers has to take the blame as he is the leader of getting talent and making trades based on evaluating talent.

Its obvious his evaluating of players is mediocre at best, as that is the level  of talent he has gotten back from these deals.

This off season with the chance to go after a big free agent, Towers settled on Bronson Arroyo(1-2) who has struggled as a starter with an ERA of 7.77.

Not to mention the trade that sent pitcher Ian Kennedy back to the San Diego Padres where he is now pitcher better in a pitcher friendly park, but that trade yielded the D-backs no dividends and San Diego has a decent starting pitcher in their rotation.

Whether its mid-season or after the season this bleeding has to stop, and GM Kevin Towers is where it stops.
