Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer is expected to start this afternoon in a key NFC West divisional game at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale. Game time is 2:25 MST.

The USC product is listed as questionable after suffering an elbow injury in a 24-21 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last week but played through it. The Red Birds will hold a pregame workout for Palmer to make sure he's ready to play.

Palmer assumed the role of starter in yesterday's walk-through after being limited in practice the entire week. Head Coach Bruce Arians stated on Friday he was sure Palmer would be "ready to go" this afternoon. If he can't play, backup QB Drew Stanton will get the call. Stanton has not thrown a pass in the NFL since 2010 when he was with the Detroit Lions.

At 7-5, the Cardinals need to win to stay in contention for a NFC wild card berth. They have lost eight divisional games in a row, including three straight against the Rams. St. Louis edged the Cards, 27-24, in the season opener back in September.
