After losing Sam Echo and Lorenzo Alexander earlier this week to season-ending injuries, rookie linebacker Alex Okafor has been lost for the rest of the season with a torn biceps tendon. The injury apparently occured during Arizona's 31-7 loss to New Orleans last Sunday.
Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians told Alex Marvez and Bill Polian the bad news on SiriusXM NFL Radio. Okafor, a fourth round draft pick from the University of Texas, participated in his first game last Sunday in New Orleans. Ironically, he was being counted on to help replace Echo and Alexander and was expected to be in the starting lineup on Sunday hen the Red Birds face Tampa Bay.
Suspended linebacker Daryl Washington is eligible to return to action in Week Five and his return can't come soon enough for Arizona. Will linebacker Karlos Dansby move to the outside once Washington returns? How effective will Washington be after missing so much time?
