Veteran Jay Feely has some competition now in training camp.

That's because the Arizona Cardinals have signed kicker Dan Carpenter to a one-year contract.

The 27-year-old Carpenter was recently released by the Miami Dolphins, losing his training camp competition for a job to rookie Caleb Sturgis. In an interesting twist, Carpenter took Feely's job in Miami when the two competed for the position in 2008. The two are now expected to compete for Arizona's kicking job under head coach Bruce Arians.

Carpenter made the Pro Bowl in 2009 and holds the Miami franchise record with a 60-yard field goal in 2010. He connected on 22 of 27 field goal attempts last season. However he's only 10-for-20 in his career from 50 yards and beyond..

Feely, 37, made 25 of his 28 field goal attempts last season and was perfect in 25 extra-point attempts for the Red Birds. He is now in his fourth season with Arizona.
