The University of Stanford product, the school's all-time touchdown leader with 45 TD's, had an impressive pro debut last Friday in Arizona's 17-0 triumph over the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. Taylor rushed for a team high 64 yards and looked good in both long and short yardage situations.
"You just try to come out there and play your game," said Taylor to abc15.com. "You show how you've been preparing at practice and just go out there and try to play fast."
Taylor also rushed for 4,300 yards at Stanford and should help a Cardinals rushing attack that finished dead last in rushing yards per game last year. Rashard Mendenhall is scheduled to be the lead back, but Taylor should make a very solid contribution in Bruce Arians' offense.
"I'm willing to compete and run north and south through the tackles," Taylor explained to abc15.com. "The first game back out, you feel like you can make some more plays, you've got to get used to getting hit again. Went out there and ran hard. The line blocked well, and we saw where we can improve as an offense. We felt like we felt some points out there on the field."
They did fumble due to some missed field goals. The good news is that Taylor got the Red Birds into scoring position with some impressive rushes.
So far, so good.
