The Arizona Cardinals have signed the inside linebacker to a one-year contract. The 31-year-old Dansby previously played for the Red Birds for six seasons from 2004-2009 before signing with the Miami Dolphins. He played the last three seasons with Miami.
"Back to the future, man,” Dansby said at his re-introductory news conference yesterday via azcentral.com. “I’m excited for the opportunity to try to finish what I started. It’s a dream come true, get an opportunity to try to put your name in the ring of honor, try to be legendary.”
Dansby had one of his best seasons with the Dolphins last year. The University of Auburn product led Miami with 133 tackles and added nine passes defended, He gives the Red Birds some much needed depth at the inside linebacker position.
A second round pick in 2004, Dansby started 83 of 90 games during his Cardinals career. He left for free agency after the 2009 season.
