The Arizona Cardinals have the seventh overall selection in the first round and the curiosity factor is huge. Which way will they go with their pick? General Manager Steve Keim and head coach Bruce Arians aren't giving out any clues but most likely it will be either an offensive lineman or someone who can effectively rush the quarterback.
This should also be one of the most unpredictable drafts in recent memory. There is no clear cut number one overall selection. The first quarterback can be taken early in the draft or not until the second round. There is a lot of uncertainty this time around.
Keim feels it's been a challenge evaluating many of the elite players in the draft.
“Meaning that here’s a guy who has played one year of football,” Keim told azcentral.com. “Or here’s a guy who has played this position two years. Yet, they are projected to be top 15 picks. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen that. Really, it’s a tribute to those players that they are that talented, and have so little experience, to be considered elite players."
First Round draft prediction
This is very difficult to project but my prediction for who the Red Birds will select in the first round is Chance Warmack, a 6-foot-2, 317-pound All-American offensive guard from the Crimson Tide of Alabama. Arizona needs help along their offensive line greatly and Warmack should be an anchor there for many years to come. He looks like a real talent.
We'll find out soon enough.
Enjoy the draft!
